As Ghana approaches the December 7 elections, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised concerns about past issues related to the handling of pink sheets at polling stations. Apexnewsgh reportsÂ
He emphasized the need for transparency and accurate reporting of election results.
To address these concerns, Dr. Omane Boamah outlined the NDC’s strategy to ensure a more transparent process. The party plans to engage media houses and educate them on the pink sheet process, conducting training sessions in 10 regions over the next seven days.
Dr. Omane Boamah warned of the possibility of arithmetic errors by the Electoral Commission (EC) that could affect election results, stressing the importance of minimizing such errors. He urged the EC to display copies of the pink sheets at each polling station, allowing all parties to access the terminal reports.
Additionally, he suggested that media personnel take photographs of the posted results to ensure accuracy and transparency.
The NDC’s efforts aim to ensure clarity and transparency in the electoral process, as part of the “100 Days to Elections” campaign. Dr. Omane Boamah shared these plans during an interview on Accra-based Adom TV.
