In a spirited campaign stop in Kaase, situated within the Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), took a firm stance against alleged corruption surrounding the controversial National Cathedral project. Addressing a gathered crowd, Nketia emphasized his party’s commitment to ensuring accountability for any individuals implicated in financial mismanagement and abuse of power related to the project.

His statements come on the heels of findings from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), which has called for a forensic audit of the National Cathedral project and recommended the prosecution of its trustees. The CHRAJ investigation uncovered troubling evidence of financial irregularities and misuse of authority linked to some individuals involved.

Nketia made it clear that an NDC-led government would not only halt the National Cathedral project but would also seek justice for those responsible for its alleged mismanagement. He condemned the project as a symbol of misprioritization and mismanagement under the current administration, led by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“If we are elected in the December polls, we will ensure that every individual involved in the mismanagement of funds or abuse of authority linked to the National Cathedral project is held accountable and prosecuted,” he declared passionately.

Reiterating his party’s dedication to transparency and responsible governance, Asiedu Nketia promised to restore public trust in national institutions and ensure the prudent use of public resources.

His remarks resonated with supporters, who were eager for a change in leadership and a commitment to safeguarding the country’s financial integrity.

  • Playing to the gallery by riding on the sentiments of populist propaganda. The laws of Ghana are to respected and obeyed at all times. If there’s anything criminal, one does not need any particular political party to be in power before prosecution, trials and conviction are brought to the floor.
If the God of Justice truly exists, he wouldn’t need a political party to fight for him by any acts of human opinion.Enough of self deception and propaganda.
