The Gambaga Youth Association known as GAMYA has called on the good people of the North East Region within and outside the Constituency to embrace peace as they go through the December 7, elections.
Speaking to Mr. Abdul Rahman President of the Gambaga Youth Association who was anxious about ensuring a peaceful and violence-free election in and around the Constituency.
According to him, elections always come with some level of disturbances which normally distort the existing peace the people enjoy especially with the youth. He says GAMYA as an association wants to make sure the Youth who the politicians mainly used to perpetuate confusion and troubles are well educated ahead of December 7 elections
“…if you look at what is happening now, it’s all about the election, and elections come with its turbulence, turbulence in a form of acrimony. But then, GAMYA stands for peace and coexistence.”
“…we just want to let the youth understand that it’s about Jaw-Jaw and not War-War. The beginning of the majority of violence starts from the youth and we have been able to bring the two major parties together and whoever the Almighty declares as President and Member of Parliament should be accepted. “He said
However, the youth association organized series of activities which includes a peace walk, Peace Talk, and others to engage with the Youth in town and beyond as part of their 3rd Annual Home Coming of the youth and people in the area.
