The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has categorically denied rumors that it approached Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, to join its parliamentary caucus.
A-Plus, the Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region, had been speculated to be in talks with the NPP to caucus with the party in Parliament.
However, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the NPP, has dismissed these claims, stating that the party has neither contacted A-Plus nor authorized anyone to engage him on its behalf regarding parliamentary matters. “The leadership of the NPP wishes to categorically deny any such reports,” Frimpong emphasized.
The General Secretary urged the public to disregard the claims and cautioned against spreading misinformation that could damage the party’s reputation and internal operations.
The denial comes amid widespread speculation about the NPP’s efforts to solidify its parliamentary presence by reaching out to individuals outside its traditional fold.
