Dr. Moses K. Atinga, a former NPP First Vice Chairman in the Upper East Region and aspirant for the party’s regional chairmanship, has announced the suspension of all his campaign activities on social media platforms.
This decision comes in solidarity with Hon. Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba, the former Buffer Stock CEO, who has been in the custody of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) for over a week.
In a statement released on July 2, 2025, Dr. Atinga expressed his concern about the fairness and respect for Hon. Aludiba’s fundamental human rights.
He urged his supporters, sympathizers, and well-wishers to halt the circulation of his campaign fliers and materials and instead channel their energy towards advocating for Hon. Aludiba’s release and a fair and expedited legal process.
Dr. Atinga emphasized the importance of unity in defending NPP members from perceived injustices and external aggression. He called on his supporters to amplify the call for the reduction of Hon. Aludiba’s bail conditions and advocate for his prompt release from EOCO custody.
The suspension of campaign activities is seen as a show of solidarity and a demonstration of the party’s commitment to standing together in times of need. Dr. Atinga’s decision has been motivated by a desire to uphold the principle of innocence until proven guilty and to ensure that justice prevails.
As the situation unfolds, Dr. Atinga’s supporters are expected to heed his call and join the advocacy efforts for Hon. Aludiba’s release.
The incident has sparked concerns about the use of power and the need for fairness and justice in the treatment of individuals, particularly those in positions of authority.
