Former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has announced his return to politics after a hiatus, driven by the urgent need for a change in government.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda on Channel 1 Television, Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that the call for change has transcended party lines, becoming a national imperative to vote out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power.
“The need for change has moved beyond partisanship; it’s now a national call to duty,” he stressed. “The current government, under President Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, has failed Ghana, and it’s surprising to see the silence of voices that were once vocal when NDC was in power.” Ofosu Ampofo expressed his belief in the ordinary Ghanaian’s ability to rise to the occasion and effect a change in government.
He emphasized that the NPP has taken the country for granted, and it’s time for a new direction.
Ofosu Ampofo’s return to politics is seen as a significant boost to the NDC, as the party gears up for the upcoming elections. His experience and leadership are expected to play a crucial role in the party’s campaign to unseat the incumbent government.
