OSP chasing of Ken Ofori-Atta has nothing to do with investors’ confidence—Hon Abiire

Hon. Awineyesema Abiire, a lecturer at the Bogatanga Technical University, has put forth his views on the essential steps needed to enhance investor confidence in the country. Apexnewsgh reports

He firmly believes that the solution does not lie in targeting former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. Instead, Mr. Abiire argues that the focus should be on streamlining the processes related to business registration and tax returns. Mr. Abiire passionately emphasized that creating a more straightforward and user-friendly environment for investors is critical.

The BTU Lecturer’s comments shed light on a crucial issue in Ghana right now. Some Ghanaians are worried that the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s actions, combined with the Special Prosecutor’s pursuit of him, might scare off investors.

Apparently, the Special Prosecutor has even issued warrants for Ken Ofori-Atta’s arrest, declaring him a fugitive. This development has likely added fuel to the fire, exacerbating concerns about investor confidence.

Hon. Abiire’s perspective is that chasing after Ken Ofori-Atta won’t be the solution to boosting investor confidence. Instead, he suggests that streamlining business registration processes and eliminating unnecessary intermediaries (or “goro boys”) would be more effective in attracting investors.
