The Bolgatanga Municipal Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service, Agunga-Dongo Frederick Ayine, has sounded the alarm on a critical furniture shortage in local schools.
Despite receiving 150 dual desks from the Government of Ghana for a whole year, the municipality still faces a staggering deficit of 9,000 furniture units.
The lack of furniture in our schools is deeply contributing to poor performance in teaching and learning.
According to Ayine, this shortage is exacerbated by the fact that over 100 furniture pieces are rendered unusable each term.
He emphasized the need for community support to address this issue, warning that without a collective effort, the municipality’s education will continue to lag.
