The Paramount Chief of the Paga Traditional Area His Royal Majesty Pe Pwanalunga-Charles Awiah Awampaga II has appealed to the government to come to their aid.
According to the Chief, the inability of the government to come to their aid after 2 years of fire incidents at their Senior High School has forced their students to rent houses which are causing a lot of teenage pregnancies at the school.
He said: “there are few things we will like to plead with you. One of them is the Senior High School. There was a time the girl’s dormitory got burnt and more than 2years down the lane, nothing has been done to it, and is even a day school we appealing to you, we are on our knees, come to our aide because it is a border town and they are facing a lot of challenges. They are encountering teenage pregnancies because they have to rent and the things they do whiles they do their studies is an eye saw, we are pleading with you to come to our aide”. He pleaded
The Chief also cease the opportunity to ask for government intervention on their collapsed bridge which he said, is linking more other communities.
“We have a bridge that is linking to so many communities from Paga to Navio, Sirigu, and back to Bolga. It has been closed down, making economic activities very hard for our people. Farmers bringing their farm produce is a Problem for us. Come to our aide in this regard”.
However, making the last appeal to the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Chief said: “Please, we know that is not easy but we want to add. We have a school here which is highly in need and is an Arabic school Paga English and Arabic, we are appealing to you to give us 6unit classrooms to serve as one of the best schools”.
The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Is on a five-region tour of the five northern regions, following the visit to the five northern regions about a month ago by His Excellency the President.
He said, “He came to the Upper East but he was not able to get to Paga, and am going to each of the five regions to try to touch on some of the places that his Excellency the President wasn’t able to reach”
