Parliament has announced plans to adjust its sitting schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays, commencing at 3 pm. Apexnewsgh reports
This decision comes on the heels of the Minority’s declaration to boycott sittings on days their leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is in court.
Dr. Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, is currently standing trial for his alleged involvement in the botched ambulance deal during his tenure as Deputy Finance Minister.
To ensure a smooth parliamentary process, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin revealed that questions will receive written answers, which will be published for members’ access.
According to Afenyo Markin, this new arrangement will benefit all members, ensuring that no one misses out on opportunities to have their questions answered due to the adjusted sitting schedule.
This move demonstrates Parliament’s commitment to finding solutions that accommodate the needs of all members, even in the face of challenging circumstances.
