The Adwumawura Programme, part of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 2024 manifesto, targets Ghanaians aged 18 to 35. Participants will receive comprehensive support, including:

Skills training
Mentorship
Startup capital
Essential equipment

New businesses will also benefit from a two-year exemption from corporate and personal income taxes. The 2025 Budget has allocated GH₵100 million to kickstart the program, demonstrating the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and economic growth.

Following the launch of Adwumawura, President Mahama will launch the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the University for Development Studies (UDS) Auditorium in Tamale. The NAP aims to equip tens of thousands of Ghanaian youth with artisanal and vocational skills, enhancing employability and contributing to the nation’s skilled workforce.

These initiatives reflect the government’s strategic approach to addressing youth unemployment through entrepreneurship and skills development. By positioning Ghana’s youth at the forefront of national economic transformation, President Mahama’s administration is working to empower the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
