A devastating accident involving the Presidential convoy has resulted in the tragic death of driver Kwesi Attah, aged 50. The incident occurred on May 19, 2024, at approximately 4:00 pm, according to a Police situational report.
The accident happened when Kwesi Attah, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser as part of the Presidential convoy from Kumasi to Accra, attempted to overtake a tanker truck near Anyinasin, close to Akim Apedwa on the Kumasi-Accra Road. Unfortunately, he collided head-on with a Kia Rhino truck, registration number GE 2985-15, driven by Richard Yeboah.
The collision resulted in the untimely death of Kwesi Attah and injuries to several others, including:
-Richard Yeboah, driver of the Kia Rhino truck
– Corporal Janet Boadu, a Police Officer
– ASP Yaw Baah, a Police Officer
– Flight Sergeant Pannah Martina, an Army Officer
