Prof Gatsi Bids Farewell to University of Cape Coast School of Business

Prof Gatsi, the outgoing Dean of the School of Business, University of Cape Coast, has bid farewell to students and lecturers after serving for six years. Apexnewsgh reports

During the Dean’s Award, he expressed his gratitude to the University management, College management, School board, School of Business management, lecturers, administrators, students, and national service personnel for their support during his tenure.

Prof Gatsi highlighted the School’s achievements, including the development of postgraduate programs aligned with national human resource development goals. The School anticipates receiving a certificate of accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to launch the Bachelor of Commerce Financial Engineering program. He also announced the introduction of two new bachelor’s degree programs: Entrepreneurship and International Business, and Entrepreneurship with Graphic Design.

The School is collaborating with the School of Economics to develop a new postgraduate program and with the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies to offer a Bachelor of Science in Energy Studies and Management. Prof Gatsi noted the School’s growth, from having no professors in 2019 to now having nine professors, ten Associate professors, and twenty-four senior lecturers.

Prof Samuel Kwaku Agyei will assume the role of Dean on August 1, 2025, and will work.

Prof Gatsi encouraged School of Business alumni to participate in the 50th Anniversary celebration on June 19 and donate to support infrastructural and logistical needs. He also urged the new administration to pursue full accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and for professional bodies, business associations, and businesses to continue partnering with the School.

Before returning to Accra, Prof Gatsi encouraged the students’ association to maintain their leadership roles in supporting the School management. He expressed optimism about the School’s future and wished everyone well.
