Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, founder of Alive Chapel International, his wife Mouha, and their domestic worker, Linda Bempah, are set to face new charges related to the fatal accident involving their 16-year-old son, which claimed the lives of two young girls in October 2024. Apexnewsgh reports
In a surprising turn of events, the prosecution, led by State Attorney Ebenezer Yaw Acquah, requested the withdrawal of the initial charge sheet against the accused persons. This decision was made after further review of the docket, and the Attorney General’s office deemed it necessary to allow the police to conduct further investigations.
Lawyers representing Prophet Amoako expressed no objections to the withdrawal, with Kwesi Eshun stating, “I was hoping that they would enter nolle prosequi. If the prosecutor wishes to withdraw the charges preferred against the accused persons, we have no objections.”
The presiding judge, Samuel Bright Acquah, granted the prosecution’s request, striking out the case and discharging the accused persons. However, in a dramatic twist, Prophet Salifu Amoako, his wife, and their domestic worker were rearrested by police officers stationed outside the courtroom.
The trio was initially charged with granting permission to an unlicensed person to drive, following the accident in East Legon on October 12, 2024.
They had pleaded not guilty and were on a GH₵50,000 bail. The police investigation is ongoing, and new charges are expected to be filed against them.
