The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sent a strong message that it won’t tolerate any form of intimidation during the upcoming December general elections. Apexnewsgh reports
Ashanti Regional Chairman, Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, made this clear at a rally in Obuasi, where he assured supporters that the party has a robust plan to protect its votes in the 2024 elections.
Nana Kwasi’s remarks came during the Ashanti Regional campaign tour of NDC vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. He urged NDC members and supporters to turn out in large numbers on Election Day and vote for presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama and the party’s parliamentary candidates.
The NDC has promised to collaborate with traditional authorities to promote development in the region, tackling abandoned projects that have hindered progress. Women’s empowerment is also high on the agenda, with plans to establish a Women’s Development Bank to provide financial support [2).
Nana Kwasi emphasized that the NDC’s development plans for the Ashanti Region can only become a reality if the people vote for the party. He appealed to the electorate to vote massively for Mahama, enabling him to “reset the country, create jobs for the youth, and empower women financially.”
The NDC’s manifesto outlines several initiatives aimed at boosting economic growth, creating jobs, and improving living standards. These include the “24-Hour Economy” and a $10 billion economic project to rejuvenate the economy ¹. With the party’s focus on inclusive development, women’s empowerment, and job creation, Nana Kwasi’s call to action is clear: vote NDC for a brighter future.
