Apexnewsgh

Former Ambassador to India, Sam Pee Yalley, has expressed disappointment in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s economic management, stating that he has failed to meet the expectations of Ghanaians. Apexnewsgh reports

Ambassador Yalley argued that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) claim of “we have the men” has proven to be false, and the economic management team’s competence is questionable.

Speaking on Class91.3FM’s Class Morning Show monitored by Apexnewsgh, Ambassador Yalley criticized Dr. Bawumia for not addressing his past statements on the economy and for lacking in-depth knowledge of fiscal and monetary economics. He explained that Dr. Bawumia’s background is in development economics, which differs from fiscal and monetary economics.

Ambassador Yalley suggested that Dr. Bawumia’s lack of transparency about his expertise has led to unrealistic expectations from the public. He also criticized President Akufo-Addo for selecting Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, bypassing traditional NPP principles.

Referring to Dr. Bawumia’s doctoral thesis, Ambassador Yalley emphasized that it focused on economic policy’s impact rather than fiscal and monetary policy, further proving that Dr. Bawumia is not the economist Ghana needs to address its economic challenges. Ambassador Yalley urged Ghanaians to reconsider whether Dr. Bawumia is indeed the right person for the job.
