Significant Recoveries from Disallowed Expenditures Revealed in Special Audit Report

A substantial amount of GH¢12,717,731,074 has been recovered from disallowed expenditures recommended for retrieval between 2020 and 2023, according to a special audit report recently submitted to Parliament. Apexnewsgh reports

This impressive recovery forms part of a larger figure of GH¢38,988,624,925 that the Auditor-General flagged and recommended for recovery over the four-year period.

The findings, detailed in the special audit report on recoveries, provide a comprehensive overview of the progress made in line with previous recommendations from the Auditor-General’s reports from 2020 to 2023.

In addition to the recovered funds, the report highlights that the state has saved an extraordinary GH¢86,865,701.07 through payroll certification exercises conducted from 2022 to 2024.
