A member of the Ghana Chefs Association Ghana Food Movement Mr. Wisdom Abiro Seidu popularly Known in the hospitality industry as ‘Chef Abiro’ has revealed that he wants the Queen of England to eat kungkuure one of the Frafra delicacies and as well wants Kungkuure to be published at the American White House. Chef Abiro, made the pronouncement during his food exhibition with the students of Bolgatanga Girl Senior High School (BOGISS) on Sunday, August 28, 2022. He added, “the president of the United should come to Ghana and say, I want to it Kungkure” According to Chef Abiro, he sees no reason why Northern food cannot be seen in and patronized outside the country. He said, it is worrying that people from other countries visit Ghana, tour places, and eat a lot of meals but leave Ghana knowing little or absolutely nothing about Northern Ghanaian Cuisine. Chef Abiro believes, is a huge matter of concern that needs to be addressed. According to him, Northern Ghana has a beautiful and wider diversity of Culture, lots of undiscovered tourist sites, and amazing cuisine. He said, according to statistics, Northern Ghana has the strongest and healthiest group of people in the country. Their strength and health are greatly attributed to the indigenous and highly nutritional food contents they eat and the activities they engage in as people. “The northern people of Ghana are known for eating for strength and vitality and not for enjoyment and this can be seen in the richness of the numerous plant-based meals they have. A member of the Ghana Chefs Association Ghana Food Movement Mr. Wisdom Abiro Seidu popularly Known in the hospitality industry as ‘Chef Abiro’ has advised economics students of Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (BOGISS) to consider venturing into the catering business than putting all their hopes and minds on becoming nurses without a job after many years of graduating from school. Apexnewsgh.com report According to him, there are more benefits for anyone who embraces catering as a business idea in his or her future career. Because is one business that can easily expose people from the lower class to very influential personalities with massive qualifications and positions across the world. He said, in order to put the North on the national and international map, he has come up with a project known as “TASTE OF THE NORTH” where he wants to reach out to major key players within the food industry in the northern sector to help address the problem by organizing practical sessions where training will be given on how to properly present northern cuisine to meet international standards and to also help demonstrate how to prevent food waste in the kitchens and how to be very innovative with some of the underutilized ingredients found in the North. Going through some exhibitions with the Students of Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (BOGISS) said, the project will consider the problem from the youth level to the market level. “That is to say we start from students in high schools studying home economics, to students studying hotel catering and tourism in the Technical University, from the traditional caterers to the chefs in the hotels who understand the vision and want to be part of the change”. He said, as a chef, his main focus is to expose Northern cuisine to the world. Adding that, it is painful that foreigners from various parts of the world visit Ghana without knowing little or absolutely nothing about Northern Ghana cuisine and culture.
