Bolga East: David Akologo Amoah position as DCE revoked

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dismissed 24 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from their positions as representatives of the President at the district level. This decision was announced in a statement signed by President Akufo-Addo on February 2nd, 2024. According to the statement, the revocation of their appointments is in accordance with Article 243 (3) (b) of the constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014 (Act 936). Among those dismissed is David Akologo Amoah, who served as the District Chief Executive for Bolgatanga East. Mr. Amoah’s appointment was endorsed by the Bolgatanga East District Assembly in the Upper East Region with a unanimous vote of 100 percent. Prior to his appointment, he held the position of Constituency Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bolgatanga East. Upon his election as the new DCE, Mr. Amoah received enthusiastic support from a crowd of supporters who gathered at the Assembly premises. He was immediately sworn into office in the presence of the Upper East Regional Minister, NPP executives, and traditional leaders. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Amoah expressed his commitment to the development of the Bolgatanga East District. However, his appointment has now been revoked by President Akufo-Addo, along with the other dismissed MMDCEs.
