Grammy-nominated Nigerian musician Davido has announced his plans to donate 300 million naira to orphanages across Nigeria as part of his yearly contribution to the nation. The details of the disbursement will be revealed Wednesday, according to a post he made on Instagram on Tuesday. This pledge, made on February 20, is a result of the Adeleke Foundation, established by Davido in 2022 in collaboration with other charitable organizations to help vulnerable children in the country. In July 2023, he announced that the foundation had already donated over 200 million naira to orphanages, benefiting 13,818 children. He also promised to continue making donations in 2024. In a press release, Davido expressed his strong desire and passion to assist and create a proper framework for charitable works in Nigeria through the foundation. This charitable tradition began in 2021 after the singer’s birthday when he made donations totaling over 200 million naira. He shared his bank account details on Twitter at the time. Davido’s commitment to giving back to his community continues to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children in Nigeria.
