A musician sharing songs for promotion through pen drive, not serious–Sammy Flex
A popular Ghanaian Showbiz analyst and CEO of Sammy Flex Tv and entertainment Samuel Atuobi Baah known professionally as Sammy Flex has advised musicians in the Upper East region to use Digital platforms as tools to themselves. According to Sammy Flex, most musicians in the region are struggling because they decided not to adopt the trending digital platforms across various channels. He said: “If you release a song and leave it on your laptop and on your head you know you have released song, then you are not serious”. “If you are still sharing your Songs through pen drive from one person to the other, you have not started any business yet” He stressed However, he encouraged Upper East musicians to take advantage of platforms such as Sound Cloud, Youtube and more to market their music online. However, the seminar was massively attended by musicians and media personalities from across all parts of the region. Source: Apexnewsgh.com

Dr. Emmanuel Borkety Bortey sues Alliance Motors and 2 others over….
Alliance Motors Ghana Limited, AFCL Ghana and Jauguar Land Rover in South Africa are facing a lawsuit over the sale of a defective vehicle they sold to Emmanuel Borkety Bortey. The vehicle, a brand Land Rover, 2020 model which was purchased on July 29, 2020 was later discovered to have a defective engine. The plaintiff is asking for a refund of the sum paid for the vehicle as “it is not fit for purpose”. Plaintiff is demanding that the defendants refund the total amount of US$96,000 being paid in instalments from August 2020 until the final date, court documents sighted by this portal can confirm. The plaintiff is also seeking for unspecified damages for breach of contract and costs including solicitor’s fees. The plaintiff, one Mr Bortey, in his writ, revealed that he purchased the vehicle from Alliance Motors, the 1st defendant at a price of US$168,000. Following the conclusion of the discussions on the sale, the 1st defendant introduced AFCL Ghana Limited, the 2nd defendant, as a company that could grant credit to the Plaintiff towards the purchase. It added that to financing the purchase, an agreement approved for disbursement was US$151,200 and a credit facility was to be repaid over a period of thirty-six months at an interest rate of eleven percent per annum, thereby, bringing the total repayment to about US$184,144 and 32 cents. According to him, after repayments of instalments, in October 2021, he sent the vehicle to workshop for routine checks and realized a ‘Check Engine’ as well as ‘Tyre Pressure’ indicator lights on the instrument cluster had lightened up and weren’t going off. It was later discovered that the engine was defective and needed to be replaced. According to the court documents, Mr Borketey was notified that the Jauguar Land Rover company, the 3rd defendant was notified of the development and that there has been an agreement to replace the engine. He was then promised a courtesy car for his temporary use. However, the defendant failed to deliver the courtesy car and this caused the Plaintiff to resort to other means to transport himself at great cost and expense, the court document explained. He indicated to the officers at Alliance Motors that he was no longer interested in the vehicle since it couldn’t live up to its billings as a robust and efficient vehicle. It is therefore Mr Bortey’s contention that the 1st and 2nd defendant had evinced a clear intention to deprive him of the funds he paid towards the purchase of the vehicle.

Speaking at God’s Love Kids Home in Soe a community in the Bolgatanga Municipality, Dr. Borketey said, he finds it more important to celebrate his birthday with a specialized group here in Ghana especially in the Upper East Region than going to Saint. Lucia as earlier planned to celebrate with foreigners. “I decided to sacrifice that trip and make it down here to the Upper East Region to have the birthday celebration with the people who are so much attached to me. They have been good to my brand right from day one and they have been the source and joy of Happy Man Bitters”. Donating at the God’s Love Kids Orphanage Home, Dr. Borketey said: “I worked with Charger Limited, producers of Happy Man Bitters and Happy Man beverages to which I take salary every month and I wish to bless the organization with part of my salary for the next one year. Especially, if Charger Limited doesn’t terminate my appointment and still gives me employment from now till next year, I will give you Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 1000.00) out of my salary every month for one year. I think, I took my salary a few days ago and am giving you the first GHC 1000.00”. The proprietor of God’s Love Kids orphanage was seen excited and expressed satisfaction with the kind gesture shown by Dr. Borketey. “I just want to say God will bless you, this is a blessed day, it means that you are a man of blessing. As God is blessing you, you are also blessing the world and I want to say we appreciate it so much. There are so many homes, there are so many problems in this country and society that need attention and so, if we are privileged to be one of those you have located, we say thank you so much and God will continue to bless you in everything you do”. Sighting some of their challenges, the proprietor said: “It is sometimes very challenging as someone that works in an orphanage there are times you will come here and everywhere is full of joy and there are times it comes with a lot of frustrations and sometimes, you even feel like telling social welfare to come and close this place and let me rest. But there are times you rise up the kind of people who come to visit and the kind of thing they do and what they say to you give you so much oil and hope that you cannot afford to give up in this kind of work we are doing”. “People like you are those who really make us function here” He expressed The Happy Man Foundation donated items and cash worth over GHC54,000.00 to God’s love kid’s home in Soe, Timataaba Children’s home in Gbeogo (Talensi) and some 30 selected needy widows at the Bolgatanga social center as his birthday also marks international widows day.
