Ayinyesima Abiire, the Zorkor-Gamborongo Assembly Member, led the charge, emphasizing the engagement’s focus on political parties, parliamentary candidates, constituency chairpersons, and polling station executives.    With representatives from the NDC and NPP in attendance, the community made a collective decision to reinforce the importance of a peaceful campaign, aiming to eliminate the pervasive issues of alcohol distribution, hate speech, and violence. According to the community’s directives, strict guidelines were established. Politicians were prohibited from distributing alcohol to the youth or using drugs as tools for inciting violence. Campaign activities, especially in school settings, were to be conducted with care to prevent any damage, and politicians were required to rent canopies and chairs to protect community property. The atmosphere was charged with the determination to prevent past electoral issues from resurfacing. Hon. Abiire acknowledged the urgent need to document these directives, given the troubling nature of recent elections.
