Finance Minister, Dr Amin Adam, is leading Ghana’s delegation to the IMF/WBank Spring Meetings taking place in Washington DC.

Ghana’s Minister for Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, is currently leading a high-level delegation to the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC. Apexnewsgh reports

The delegation, consisting of officials from the Finance Ministry and the central bank, includes names like Abena Osei Asare, Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Fatimatu Abubakar, Minister for Information, Dr Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana.

During their time in Washington, the delegation is expected to meet with influential figures such as Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director, and Ajay Banga, World Bank President. They will also attend various important meetings including the G-24 Ministers and Governors Meeting, the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action, and the Development Committee Plenary.

Additionally, the delegation will participate in a high-level event addressing the V20 Climate Prosperity Agenda and the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action. In addition to meetings with the IMF and the World Bank, the delegation will hold bilateral discussions with partner countries, financial institutions, and private sector investors.

Last week, Ghana and IMF Mission reached a staff-level agreement on economic policies and reforms, marking the conclusion of the second review of the 36-month ECF- supported program. Once approved by IMF Management and formally completed by the IMF Executive Board, Ghana will have access to about US$360 million in financing.

The Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and World Bank are known to bring together a diverse group of participants including central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, and more to discuss global issues such as poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

This event provides a platform for discussions on the world economic outlook, international development, and the global financial system.
