In the Upper East Region, communities like Kajelo in the Kassena Nankana West and Yamiriga in the Talensi District have performed better in the region as far as bush burning is concerned and this is according to the Upper East Regional Forestry Manager Emmanuel Yeboah. Apexnewsgh.com report
According to Regional Forestry Manager, In some of the communities, you will be surprised to see that there wouldn’t be so many fire outbreaks in those areas like Kajelo or instance, and few other communities like Yameriga, 10 years down the line, there has not been any fire outbreak because World Vision has a project there, and the people have known the essence of protecting themselves from wildfire.
He also mentioned that in the Chiana area because of projects, education, and sensitization, the outbreak has also reduced.
“We are doing fire education and awareness creation especially when we have projects we always do this fire awareness creation and even if there is no project we still educate the people, we sensitized them” He stressed
The Regional Manager made these revelations during an exclusive interview with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of Apexnewsgh.com on Tuesday, September 6, 2022
