A motorist has been burnt beyond recognition leading to his death in an accident involving a commercial bus popularly known as trotro in Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region.
The incident occurred near the hospital junction on Bolgatanga-Navrongo road.
According to the eyewitnesses who spoke to Apexnewsgh.com, expressed shock over the tragic incident, the motorist appeared helpless after been trapped and the vehicle and consumed by the terrible fire.
the van according to eyewitnesses, was loaded with drinks whiles moving towards Navrongo run into shortly after the deceased motorist and a pillion rider were seen overtaking oncoming bikes from the opposite direction.
The eyewitness further accounts that the riders lost control and ran into the moving vehicle which had 3 passengers on board and heavily loaded with bottled drinks.
An explosion was heard and followed shortly by flames in what is suspected to be an explosion caused by the crash of the motorbike beneath the vehicle.
Though a team of police and officials of the Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene, only the drinks and a part of the vehicle could be salvaged.
However, two passengers on board the vehicle have been rushed to the Bolgatanga hospital for treatment.
