UER: Tongraana wins the council of state elections with 19 votes

Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area Tongraan Naab Kugbilson Nalebegtang has been re-elected by delegates to represent the Upper East Region as their Council of State in the Akufo Addo second administration.

The Paramount Chief pulled 19 votes ahead of the other four contenders in the election which approved for only 30 delegates to cast their votes.

Pe Ditundini Adiali Thomas-More, the Paramount Chief of the Chiana Traditional Area and currently the President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs polled 6 votes.

However, after the vote counts, some other contestants who participated are Mr Akurugu Eric Aligiyelah, a teacher by profession who got no single vote, Mr Yaw Mort, a former Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party and a business man also obtaining no vote and Mr Akamboe Ayirebasia, a retired public servant got 5 votes.
