As the countdown to the 2024 general elections in Ghana begins, the Upper East Region is ramping up its preparations. At the forefront of this effort is William Obeng Adarkwa, the Upper East Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC). Apexnewsgh reports

In a recent engagement with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen of ApexnewsGh, Adarkwa expressed optimism, stating that the region is nearly ready, with preparations sitting at an impressive 95%.
While there is still anticipation surrounding the arrival of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) and voter registers, Adarkwa reassured the community that the Commission is committed to facilitating a smooth and successful special voting exercise in the lead-up to the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The EC has meticulously organized everything from essential materials to thorough training for personnel involved in the election process.
Highlighting the readiness of the team, Adarkwa shared that the regional training, known as the Training of Trainers, has been successfully completed. However, he noted that some constituencies and districts still require additional intensive training to ensure every detail is covered.

With a strong commitment to a peaceful electoral process, the Upper East Region appears set to host an election that reflects the will of its people. “The Commission is ready for this year’s election,” Adarkwa affirmed, instilling confidence in the public that everything is in place for a successful event.

As the date approaches, the sense of anticipation and readiness for a fair electoral process continues to grow within the community.
