During a one-day tour of the Upper East Region on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged the people to throw their full support behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December elections. He described Dr. Bawumia as the embodiment of the hopes and aspirations of Ghanaians as the country approaches the polls.
Addressing Chiefs and elders, President Akufo-Addo called on voters to choose the NPP by selecting the number one spot on the ballot.
He emphasized the importance of continuing the policies that have brought relief, progress, and development to the country. “This election is a simple one. When you go to the polls, just look for number one—you will see the elephant on number one. You don’t need to go any further,” he stated.
The President also expressed gratitude for the support he has received and urged the people to seriously consider the impact of their choice. His visit aimed to give an account of his stewardship and to rally support for the NPP and its vision for the nation.
