Former Ghana High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Victor Smith, believes that the return of former President John Dramani Mahama is crucial for Ghana’s development.
In a recent interview on Kessben FM monitored by Apexnewsgh, he stated that Mahama’s comeback would serve as a rescue point for the country, ensuring that all abandoned and unfinished projects are completed.
According to Ambassador Victor Smith, the current government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has failed to improve the state of affairs in Ghana. He criticized the administration for mismanagement, which he believes has led to a decline in the economy.
Ambassador Smith highlighted that the country’s economic affairs are now being managed by the World Bank, showcasing the government’s inability to sustain growth.
In light of these issues, Ambassador Victor Smith emphasized that John Dramani Mahama’s focus upon his return would be on completing existing projects rather than initiating new ones. This strategy aims to avoid potential funding challenges from external sources while ensuring that the promises made to the Ghanaian people are fulfilled.
Smith expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Mahama, will be able to rectify the current situation and alleviate the suffering of the Ghanaian people.
He believes that the upcoming December 7 polls will provide an opportunity for the NDC to address the issues plaguing the country and pave the way for a better future.
