One of the notable Non-Governmental Organizations in Ghana known as the Bozawi Foundation has put a smile on the face of a vulnerable couple battling the challenge of being visually impaired in the Winkogo community of Talensi District in the Upper East Region.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, April 17, 2022, after the donations, the Foundation’s Director, Wilfred Bormeh said, during one of their outreach programs they observed that the couple, Mr. Apana Asoreka Gabriel and his wife Mary needed urgent support.

He said the abode of the couple was falling apart and their mud house became a death trap, especially as the walls continued to peel off and the roof leaked with no mercy.

Mr. Apana Asoreka Gabriel said, “Being visually impaired doesn’t mean we’re written off but rather a part of the society, only different”. The couple joyfully expressed gratitude to the Bozawi team for the wonderful kind gesture shown them all these years, especially when they needed it the most.
Bozawi Foundation renovated the building of the couple and also donated a 50 kg bag of Rice, one gallon of oil, and some toiletries to Mr. Apana Asoreka Gabriel and his family.
The management team of Bozawi Foundation led by Wilfred Bormeh, Emmanuel Abugri, Jonathan Ontoyin, and Godwin Bibariwiah mentioned that for years, all this has been self-funded and that their doors are open for any partnership to enable them to reach out to more vulnerable groups.
