I was not aware Sarkodie’s song was a campaign song – Kuami Eugene

The Management of highlife musician Kuami Eugene has described rapper Sarkodie as dishonest. According to them, the reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year was not aware of the political lyrics in the song. Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene have been slammed for the song titled ‘A New Day’. In the song, Sarkodie apologized for criticizing President Akufo-Addo in the past because he has managed to end dumsor. This portion of the song has drawn condemnation from supporters and senior officials of the NDC. Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has wondered why the musician made claims that Nana Addo resolved dumsor. ”Sarkodie or any other musician whose career is at moribundity can receive any amount of money to endorse a political party. However, the endorsement message should not be punctuated with naked lies or embellish with sickly untruths. It is an incontrovertible fact that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama solved dumsor. And there is overwhelming evidence to this fact potentiated with data. Data cannot be hobbled with some low bars musical lyrics,” the Minority leader posted on his Facebook page. Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene says he was unaware the song was an endorsement for the president. “Sarkodie only sent me the first verse of his rap which did not contain the endorsement for Nana Addo to aid me to do the chorus. It was only at the video shoot that we got to know of the second verse, we confronted Sark’s management, and they denied. I am uncomfortable, I still don’t know Sarkodie’s motive for the song. It will have an effect on my career, I wasn’t ready to vouch for any political party openly….it will not end here,” Kuami Eugene said. NAM1’s fallout affected the progress of my career – Kumi Guitar

Highlife artiste, Kumi Guitar, has disclosed that if not for the sudden fallout of Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1 from the entertainment industry, his music career would have been on a better scale compared to several A list musicians in the country. Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ Friday morning, Kumi said the fallout of NAM1 in the entertainment industry had a negative impact on his brand as far as music is a concern. “His fallout has affected me big time. All the songs released during the start of the Zylofon agenda had great impact. He made sure the promotion among other things went on well. He was the financier, when he wasn’t around, work didn’t go as expected. Obviously it affected me and still affecting but we are hopeful of better levels soon” he told Halifax Ansah-Addo. Weeks ago, Kumi Guitar, whose real name is Nana Yaw Kumi, released a new song, titled ‘SEX’ which talks about the uncontrolled desire for sex by most men of today. Kumi Guitar was the first artiste to be signed onto the Zylofon Music label, one of the many companies owned by NAM1 when he signed a five-year contract in 2017. His association with the label undoubtedly boosted his career with his songs like Betweener earning him nominations in various award schemes. However, despite the challenges, Kumi Guitar further disclosed on the show that he would not leave the label even when approached with a better deal from another record label. “We need to learn how to be there for each other. Though it doesn’t put food on the table today for me, it might do tomorrow. Today will past, tomorrow is needed than anything. We need to be each others keeper. The industry already lacks investment, if there is an investor who has had an issue and everyone runs away, do you think it’ll encourage any other person to be in such industry? We need to make the industry lovely for investors so that, even if they are in crisis, they are assured of our support not to always think of running from one rich man to the other” Thepublisher Please kindly contact apexnewsgh.com on apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications

Your kids will suffer the consequences of your selfish acts – Sonnie Badu cautions politicians

Ghanaian gospel artist based abroad, Sonnie Badu has sent a word of caution to politicians who are busily instigating violence amongst unsuspecting youths. Most Politicians are to blame when it comes to violence in any country and this is because majority of them are in the habit of paying jobless youths to go and fight their opponents. This appalling act according to Sonnie Badu, has serious consequences which will not only disrupt the peace and unity in a country but also affect the youth. Sonnie Badu opined that the generation of these politicians will be the ones to suffer more when they have joined their ancestors or retire from politics. Let’s take the recent clash between NPP and NDC youths recently for instance. The politicians they are busily fighting for are sleeping in comfortable beds with air conditions while these youths are killing each other. He wrote on Instagram: “To all those politicians involved in this, I know there are also good ones out there, always remember it’s your children that will pay for it.. a word to the wise”. Ama K Abebrese reacts to Wontumi’s comments on Mahama’s daughter

Ghanaian actress, Ama K Abebrese has waded into the controversial comments made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Bosiako a.k.a Chairman Wontumi. According to the actress, the comments made by Chairman Wontumi are not only unpalatable but inappropriate and abhorrent, especially because she is just a child and Wontumi’s comments had sexual innuendoes. She said for someone in frontline politics to make such inappropriate comments about a 13-year-old child is disturbing and it doesn’t matter whose child it is, wrong is wrong and must be condemned. It would be recalled that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Chairman Wontumi was reported to the Ashanti Regional Police Command over comments he made about the daughter of former President John Dramani Mahama. Chairman Wontumi in a discussion on his radio station sort to advise John Dramani Mahama to stop flaunting his daughter who is thirteen years old on social media before someone does something to her. “So now what he does is that he posts his daughter indicating that she is now of age. Someone will catch her and do something to her for him to realize that if you have a daughter you will hide her,” he said on the radio programme. It was on the back of this development that Ama K Abebrese made the post condemning the chairman for making such unfortunate comments about a child. Read her full post below: Over the last week, my attention was drawn to a video on social media about comments made by Wontumi, a chairman from the ruling party of Ghana’s NPP political party about the 13-year-old daughter of former President Mahama, and current flagbearer of the opposition NDC political party. The unpalatable comments made in the Twi language, which can be translated as “so now what he does is that he posts his daughter indicating that she is now of age. Someone will catch her and do something to her for him to realize that if you have a daughter you will hide her.” Womtumi’s comments in no uncertain terms are abhorrent and inappropriate. Especially when it is interpreted with sexual innuendo. For someone in frontline politics to say such a thing about a young child is frankly unacceptable. Regardless of whether that child’s parents work in a bank, are farmers or a former President. We all know it’s commonplace during elections time for political parties to throw jabs at each other. I don’t care about anyone’s political party and affiliations. Also spare me the political party supporters and their blind support of their leaders; but wrong is wrong, and children should be off-limits. A few weeks ago, DJ Switch who is 12 years old and a little boy of about 2 years were subject to sexually inappropriate comments on social media by adults. Both the adults in question apologized. There is a wider conversation about such comments about children in society as a whole. Some view these kinds of comments as just mere loose talk and some even justify them as harmless. I got to thinking; that if a former President’s young daughter can have such comments said about her, then I’m saddened for the average child in Ghana whose parents and family may not have influence or be rich or famous. Who fights for them? We all have to do our best to protect all children every way we can. Maybe I’m just ‘too know’ as I have described online but I don’t think that such comments about children are acceptable, that’s just me. Wontumi may or may not apologise for the comments he made. Or he may say that his comments were misinterpreted. Well, now the police will deal with it. (PS. To the bloggers/journalists that will use this post for clickbait. Kindly do me the kind courtesy of just reporting factually without the skewed headlines). Ghanaweb Please kindly contact apexnewsgh.com on apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications

SARS: Na SARS collect my bebe- Angry Nigerian protester laments

It appears the Nigerian Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious Nigerian police unit that has been the target of nationwide protests, were not only experts in brutalizing citizens but also experts in separating love by forcefully taking away girls from their lovely boyfriends. This was revealed in Uyo the state capital of Akwa Ibom, in the South South of Nigeria during citizen’s protest of against SARS. In recent times, the unnecessary use of force by the police in response to the protests has shown the longstanding disrespect for the right to life by Nigerian security forces. In one of the pictures on social media captured by Apexnewsgh.com, a young man in his early 20s was seen with a placard protesting against SARS for taking away his girl friend from him forcefully without any offence committed as a patriotic citizen of Nigeria.
