Try these 10 things, if you want to stay away from trouble

1. Listen to and act on your instincts. I really, really hope I’ve finally gotten this one. In my life, several moments stand out as times that my instincts were screaming at me and I stupidly steamrolled them. One was when I bought a beautiful loft condo in my twenties with a man I’d been dating for three months. My instincts were shrieking at the top of their lungs as I signed that mortgage paper (really, my conscious mind should have been screaming louder than my instincts but I was young and stupid). I should have followed my impulse to literally run from the table, but I remember worrying that the mortgage broker would think I was nuts and that I’d cause a scene. In the end, I lost everything I invested and the man who was soon to be my ex-boyfriend walked away with a huge profit. Last year, listening to my instincts blessedly pulled me back from the edge of another potentially disastrous real estate investment, and also caused me to cancel two fabulous trips because of a strange sense of foreboding. In the latter cases, I’ll never know what I might have been spared, but when I also followed my instincts and booked an impulsive trip to Italy instead, I discovered answers to questions I’d been running from for years. Don’t ignore your instincts. 2. Don’t try to reason with unreasonable people. I’m a people-pleaser and have finally realized and fully acknowledged just how much energy and emotion I used to invest in trying to get unfriendly, unreasonable people to understand or like me. This year, with the help of an awesome coach, I finally learned to stop trying to win these types over. In the past, if someone unfairly accused me of something or judged me incorrectly or just plain didn’t seem to approve of me, I would do everything I could to help them understand me and reverse their opinion. No more. You know who these people are. Learn to deflect their comments and challenges, don’t react or let them upset you, and don’t bother trying to explain or convince. Be as kind to them as you can in doing so, but don’t waste your breath or precious time trying to reason with them once it’s clear that they’re just plain unreasonable. 3. Have breakfast like a king, do lunch like a prince, and eat dinner like a pauper. If you typically skip breakfast or eat something quick (think coffee and a sweet treat), eating a more substantial morning meal that contains protein, healthy fat, fiber, and a fruit or vegetable will supercharge your day like you wouldn’t believe. People who eat a solid breakfast have been shown in studies to perform substantially better on exams, and they also are more likely to successfully lose weight and keep it off. On the other hand, eating a big meal in the evening triggers a surge of insulin and other hormones that are the last thing you want floating around your body while you’re sleeping. This can affect the quality of your sleep, accelerate weight gain, set you up to develop diabetes, age you more quickly, and decrease your body’s ability to weather stress. This one’s a hard habit to break, but I’m trying! 4. Make spiritual time a daily priority. My spiritual life and faith have been important to me for years now, but like most people, it was something I tended to lean on primarily when times were tough. Yet there’s tons of scientific literature out there supporting the benefits of spiritual beliefs and lifestyle practices on our immune system, mental health, physical health, etc. This year, I finally developed the habit of making time for prayer and reflection first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, and have experienced great peace, insight, and focus as a result. Now, I wouldn’t dare skip it. 5. Track your spending and be accountable to yourself financially. I love this quote from Dave Ramsey: “If you will live like no one else, one day you will live like no one else.” Over the last few months, I have been studying his “Financial Peace University” course and the effects on my financial habits and bottom line have been profound. I’ve been blessed for years with a good solid income, but somehow always managed to fritter the bulk of it away through bad decisions (see #1), mindless spending, and being overly comfortable with credit and debt. Thanks to Dave, I’ve learned to see my habits in the cold hard light of truth and learned to control money rather than letting it control me. I encourage you to do the same! 6. Get up early to find the extra time you long for. As I wrote about in my post Confessions of a Reformed Night Owl, I have finally cured myself of my lifelong habit of going to bed late. Most of us find it very hard to find time in our crazy busy days to do the important things that don’t have deadlines (e.g. taking steps toward a dream, writing that book that’s inside you,  doing yoga or another exercise, taking time for spirituality and reflection). Once the day is over, we’re tired and it’s too late. Even if you go to bed and get up just an hour earlier, you’ll be amazed by the satisfaction you get from maximizing the gift of early morning time. 7. Make family a top priority. Because I’m obsessed with figuring out what creates true happiness and contentment, I’m always asking myself and observing what makes me happiest. Research consistently points to our relationships as a prime source of happiness and health. This year, hands down, my best times have been with family, particularly my sisters and my gorgeous nephews. Though we live far apart, spending time with them has become my top priority. I recently spent Christmas with my sister in Brooklyn and just spent a New Year’s week with our entire clan. I’ve had to make some major sacrifices in order to make these

Wa to get passport office ahead of Upper East Region- What is the secret, Upper West is shining more than Upper East?

Upon all the requests made to the past and present government by the people of the Upper East Region for an active passport application office in the region, which they say, will enable them reduce the risk and stress of traveling to Tamale in the Northern Region for passport application each day. However, it appears Wa in the Upper West is about to get a passport application ahead of the Upper East Region. What might be the secret of Upper West shining in terms of development than the Upper East? your guess is as good as mine. Mohammed Habibu Tijani, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has said passport application centers will soon be opened in Cape Coast and Wa to ease the stress of acquiring the identity and traveling document in the country. According to Mr. Tijani, the government had migrated to online platforms as far as the application of passport in the country was concerned for effective service delivery. Speaking at the second series of a virtual Result Fair in Accra, Mr. Tijani said the government had increased the validity of the Ghanaian passport from five years to 10 years to conform to international practice. He said there were few application centers across the country, with each having its peculiar challenge, leading to undue delays in the acquisition of passports and exploitation of applicants by the “goro boys” or the middlemen. Mr. Sabi reiterated the government’s resolve to ensure that the processes leading to passport acquisition were made in an effective and efficient manner. He said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration had from March 1, 2020, ceased all manual passport application operations. The Ministry directed all applicants subsequently to purchase the online passport application platform from its website; passport.mfa.gov.gh for their applications. He said with the online application platform (passport.mfa.gov.gh), one would need to create an account and make the payment, after which the form will be sent to the email. However, Mr. Tijani also reiterates that online passport application is now available at all Passport Application Centres in the country. Australian man jailed after stomping on pregnant Muslim woman

(CNN)-An Australian man who punched and stomped on a pregnant Muslim woman has been sentenced to three years in prison. Rana Elasmar, a mother of four, was 38 weeks pregnant when the attack took place last November, according to CNN affiliate Nine News. She was sitting in a Sydney cafe, wearing a hijab, when Stipe Lozina approached her table. After briefly speaking to her, Lozina punched Elasmar several times and stomped on her head when she fell to the ground. Elasmar’s friends and other patrons leapt from their seats to restrain him. Lozina allegedly made a racist remark before the unprovoked attack, according to Nine News. Elasmar told Nine News that she had been focused on protecting her unborn baby. She suffered minor injuries in the attack and her son was unharmed. “If you feel the right to physically or verbally abuse somebody who looks a bit different than you, then Australia’s not the right country for you,” she told reporters outside court last month. Months after the attack, Elasmar was still experiencing the physical and psychological effects, her sister told CNN affiliate Seven News in June. Lozina pleaded guilty to assault, but he claimed it was not an Islamophobic or racist attack. “I don’t hate them, but I don’t get along with them. I’ve got no business with them,” Lozina said in court, according to Nine News. On Thursday, he was sentenced to a maximum three years in jail, with a non-parole period of two years. Source: CNN

Why is everyone trying to kill the Jews?

THE GREATEST KNOWLEDGE OF ALL BY GREG ODOGWU (CITIZEN SMITH) Question 3: Why is everyone trying to kill the Jews? Answer: In 2008 a report by the US Department of State found that anti-semitism still persists in the world. This is inspite of modernization and the lessons learnt from history, especially the outrage over the killing of about 6million Jews during World War 2. The answer to why many people still want the Jews dead can only be found in the truth that the present world us faced with a War of the Angels and Humans in the Dimension 6 and 7. Dimension 6 is where the Humans that were created 66million years ago live. Dimension 7 is where our own contemporaries live – that is, Humans created on this present Earth in the past 6000 years. Presently, Dimension 7 is occupied by people we know as Dead Humans. They left this material Earth and went to our permanent home in Dimension 7. Now, the conflict between the two Dimensions is because of Religion. Dimension 6 Humans helped the Angels to design our world religions. They planned to use these Religions to set up a one world Religion under who we know as Anti-Christ. The Anti-Christ is known with the code 666 because he is to come from Dimension 6, and he is a man, not an Angel. The people from this Dimension are the ones known as the ILLUMINATI. They want to totally control this present Earth. However, Humans in Dimension 7 are not happy with this development. All the people in Dimension 7, our home, HATE what Religion has turned our world into. And they are aware that the root of the chaos is Israel. The Anti-Christ is to rule the world from Jerusalem. Every dead Human knows the threat from Dimension 6. Ironically, nobody understands what’s going on while the person is alive. But immediately the Human crosses over to the other side, the whole picture becomes clear. But there is no coming back to Earth to explain to the living. The much they can do is to instigate everyone against the CONTROL CENTER of the ILLUMINATI – Jews and Jerusalem. This is why some of the world leaders who contact the underworld always fights the Jews. All through history, the Jews have spread across the Earth and enjoyed so much influence and prosperity, without knowing that the Messiah they expect is going to come from the ILLUMINATI world, and not from our world. Interestingly, they too will be sacrificed by the same forces that is raising them high around the world. This means that the Jews are in for a Double Jeopardy. The only hope for the Jews and the world is the ongoing reconciliation between the worlds, which the Peace Keepers of the Universe are engendering on Earth. We have already achieved a major milestone with the commitment from the Black Illuminati leader, Most High. He is the most powerful of them. At the moment, Most High is dismantling his key World War 3 booby traps on this material Earth. And he has agreed to work with Europe. The overall plan is to set up a new global political order on Earth, which will provide the platform for ratification of all agreements made in the Spirit Realm. Bernard Mornah Chairmanship slot defeat is a blessing for Ghana- Dr. John Osei Bobbie

A political Scientist Dr. John Osei Bobbie has described the defeat of Bernard Mornah as National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) as a blessing to Ghana democracy. Speaking on the A1 radio Daybreak Upper East program on Thursday, October 1, 2020, monitored by Apexnewsgh.com the political Scientist was very emphatic with his response on PNC Congress results outcome with took place yesterday. According, to Dr. Bobbie, the defeated PNC Bernard Mornah has no good intentions for the growth and sustainability of PNC. “Unfortunately, Bernard Mornah was not building PNC, I think he was more or less working for the NDC and not building PNC as a party. He has that charisma and I thought, he would use the charisma to push PNC forward, and unfortunately, he was always doing the biding of NDC, as a third party, you should appreciate where you need to give appreciation and condemned where condemnation is deserved. But in a situation, you decide to follow only one line and even you will not come down to the region to help mobilize the party to move the party forward to enable Ghana politics to have a strong third force, then you are not doing all of us any good. He losing the PNC Chairmanship slot is a step in the right direction, is a blessing for Ghana, and a blessing for the PNC.” Responding to the criticism of some elements of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) which suggest that the governing New Patriotic Party has hands in Bernard Mornah defeat, Dr. Bobbie said such criticisms cannot be entirely factual because the same people wouldn’t have come to say same if Bernard Mornah had won.
