Atia Figo Awonekai, the Upper East Regional Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been declared the winner of the parliamentary candidate position for Bolgatanga Central.
He achieved a significant victory, with Abileo Rowfield coming in second with 82 votes and Hon. Agana Rashid Bawa securing the third position with 53 votes. Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary Atia Figa Awonekai secured 618 votes to become the winner.
Awonekai expressed his gratitude to his team for their hard work and acknowledged that this victory was a result of their collective efforts.
He also extended his congratulations to his contender Agana Bawa and emphasized the need for the party to unite and strategize for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Awonekai vowed to take the fight to the incumbent NDC candidate, Isaac Adongo, and was confident that they would succeed in the next election.
