The Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu has issued a directive for Dr. Benedict Bonaventure Aligebam to hand over his duties as the Managing Director for the organization. This decision comes after controversy surrounded Dr. Aligebam’s continued stay in the position following his retirement.
In a letter seen by Apexnewsgh, Minister Yakubu referenced a MOFA letter from February 2, 2024, which stated that Dr. Aligebam’s request for a two-year post-retirement contract could not be granted. The letter further stated that a three-month post-retirement contract, which began on December 7, 2023, expired on March 7, 2024. As a result, Dr. Aligebam was directed to hand over his duties and responsibilities to the next Senior Management Officer while steps are taken for a replacement.
The directive from the Upper East Regional Minister aims to address the controversy surrounding Dr. Aligebam’s prolonged tenure as the Managing Director of ICOUR. With this new development, the organization is set to undergo a transition in leadership as a replacement for Dr. Aligebam is sought.
