Government Assures Public of Stable Power Supply Amid Intermittent Outages

Ghanaians can breathe a sigh of relief as the government has ensured adequate fuel supplies to sustain power generation, despite recent reports of intermittent outages, commonly known as “dumsor,” in some parts of the country. Apexnewsgh reports

Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, addressed a press briefing on Thursday, February 20, acknowledging the recent power cuts but emphasizing that measures have been put in place to maintain a stable and reliable energy supply.

Energy Minister John Jinapor is closely monitoring the situation and will engage the public in the coming days to provide updates and address any concerns regarding the outages.

According to Ofosu, the energy minister will soon provide more information to the public, but for now, he assured that the government has averted potential threats to the power supply, including the closure of the West Africa Gas Pipeline and the previous government’s failure to provide fuel for thermal power generation.

The government’s efforts to ensure a stable power supply are part of its broader strategy to address Ghana’s energy challenges. This includes securing cost-effective and sustainable fuel supplies, increasing financing for electricity supply infrastructure development, and strengthening institutional and management capacity in the energy sector.

With the government’s assurance of adequate fuel supplies, Ghanaians can expect a more reliable power supply, which is essential for economic growth and development.
