In a shocking revelation, Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has alleged that the National Security Minister receives a staggering GH¢18 million every quarter to address the ongoing conflict in Bawku. Apexnewsgh reports

This funding, intended to support security operations and initiatives, has raised concerns about transparency and accountability.

Ayariga, speaking on Woezor TV on August 4, described the situation as unacceptable, accusing the Akufo-Addo government and the National Security Ministry of profiting from the suffering of the people of Bawku. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive audit to ensure effective use of funds.

The Bawku conflict, a longstanding issue rooted in ethnic and chieftaincy disputes, has led to numerous casualties and instability. Despite substantial financial resources allocated, the situation remains volatile, casting doubt on the effectiveness of measures implemented.

Ayariga’s allegations suggest that the National Security Minister receives GH¢6 million monthly, while the people of Bawku continue to endure poverty and hardship. He believes the conflict was largely created by the promises of the NPP and calls for greater transparency and accountability in the management of resources.

The situation has sparked concerns about the government’s handling of the conflict and the use of funds intended to restore peace and stability in Bawku.
