Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Director of Administration who also doubles as the former Deputy Ghana Ambassador to China Dr. Charles Dwamena (A.K.A DR CHINA) has said, the government of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has performed better even in a pandemic era. As he rated Ghana cedis the strongest currency in West Africa currently.
Dr. China, as he is popularly called made the pronouncement On Sunday, October 3, 2021, when he was addressing Apexnews Ghana at the Upper East Regional Annual Delegates Conference of the party in Bolgatanga the Regional capital.
“As we speak, the Ghana cedis is the strongest currency in West Africa, one of the top 3 in Africa. It came through prudent financial management. What President Akufo Addo did from the beginning was like let us build factories, let us put factories in various parts of the country. People were making a mockery of him, that this cannot happen but today, we are seeing it in a pandemic era where other economies are crumbling. South Africa is struggling and other countries and great economies are suffering but look at Ghana, we are bouncing up as if we never entered into a pandemic. Things are not 100% ok, but at least comparatively, we have done far better. So in 2020, the people of Ghana gave President Akufo Addo the opportunity because they appreciate what he has done by giving him 4 more years to do more and this is why we need to come together and rally behind the President so that he will use 4 more years to do more for our people”.
Meanwhile, he believes the party needs more organization ahead of a successful agenda of breaking the 8. He further expressed satisfaction with the cooperation he has witnessed so far from party members in all the regions they have visited Savanna, Wa and Upper East.
“So far, everything has been so orderly. To me, is a testament of how organized the party is, going forward in breaking the 8 we need more organization. What we are seeing here is wonderful, see the activity and the amount of energy in people, it tells you that indeed we have the strength in our numbers and when we talk about breaking the 8, is not a far-fetched thing is something within range”.
“What is perhaps left, is for us to put up these energies together to build a stronger party, one that is financially sound and will be able to take care of the needs of the people. And I said with that, we will be able to overcome any opposition when we enter into an election”.
“Because personally, I believe that is only an NPP party that can transform Ghana and make it a prosperous country but for that to happen, the party must stay in power for 4 consecutive times and for a party to stay in power that long, we need a stronger party. That is why I said that we need to bring all these energies together to build a stronger party the one that is financially strong”.
Meanwhile, when Apexnews GH pushed him to know his intention of contesting a national office position, he said, I am not ready to talk about that for now, it is true i had the intention to contest the National Treasurer Position but the time hasn’t come yet and when is time the party will announce it for those interested to the campaign.
He said, he is solidly behind the president with all his support for him to succeed as a president who is interested in making Ghana a better place to be.
