Ghana Police Service Arrests Students from PRESEC for Staging Kidnapping Incident

In a recent intelligence-led operation and investigation, the Ghana Police Service has arrested six individuals, including four juveniles who are all students of Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) in Legon, Accra. Apexnewsgh reports

Among the six arrested, two are identified as Isaac Kissi Adjei, also known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, also known as Timmy.

The Police statement explained that one of the juveniles, in an attempt to extort money from his parents for a supposed trip abroad, conspired with the others to stage a kidnapping incident. The group demanded a ransom of Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 340,000.00) from the victim’s parents.

Further investigation revealed that the juveniles, along with the two adults, managed to collect Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) of the total ransom amount. The identities of the juveniles have been kept confidential, and their parents and guardians have been notified as the police continue their investigation into the incident.

The Police Service emphasized the importance of holding those responsible for such actions accountable and ensuring that justice is served. As information continues to be gathered, the authorities remain committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting the safety and well-being of all citizens.
