After a transformative three-year tenure, Jalulah’s decision to step down comes as he prepares for an indefinite relocation outside the region.

During his tenure, the Upper East Regional Chapter of the GJA witnessed significant growth and development. Membership increased from 16 to 45, reflecting a renewed sense of engagement and relevance among journalists in the region. The chapter organized several capacity-building workshops, commemorated World Press Freedom Day, and celebrated journalistic excellence through the GJA Regional Awards.

Under Jalulah’s leadership, the GJA Upper East Region:

Organized training sessions on fact-checking and conflict-sensitive reporting
Held public lectures on critical issues, including climate change and its impact on agriculture
Established a keep-fit football team to promote camaraderie and wellness among journalists
Participated in notable tournaments and events

As he prepares to exit office, Jalulah called on the next Executive to build upon the gains made during his administration. He urged them to strengthen collaborations with civil society, corporate bodies, and state institutions to tackle emerging challenges in the media landscape.

Jalulah expressed profound gratitude to GJA members, civil society organizations, businesses, government institutions, and development partners for their support during his tenure as leader.

He will be remembered for revitalizing the GJA in the Upper East Region, prioritizing professional excellence, member welfare, and building stronger ties between the media and the broader community. His leadership has left a benchmark for future leaders of the association.
