Just In: Joshua Alarbi lands himself 9months in jail with hard labour

An unemployed man Joshua Alarbi, has been handed a 9 months in jail with hard labour for the crimes of unlawful entry and theft by an Accra Circuit Court which was presided over by Kizita Naa Koowa Quarshie.

Information says on June 25, 2023, around midnight, Alarbi unlawfully entered an apartment belonging to Silas Confidence Beauty on the first floor of Biney Apartments located at Nungua Addogono, Accra.

At the time of the theft, Beauty was away visiting a friend in East Legon.

During the burglary, Alarbi stole his neighbour’s 32-inch LG television set, GHC 1,000.00 in cash, and an empty money box from the apartment. However, he was spotted by one of the awake tenants who raised the alarm.

Faced with the threat of being caught, Alarbi abandoned the stolen items on the balcony and attempted to escape.

Fortunately, the occupants of the apartment caught him before he could flee and promptly handed him over to the Nungua police.

During the police investigation, Alarbi confessed to the crime in his statement, leading to the charges against him.

The court found him guilty and sentenced him to nine months of hard labour at the Ankaful Prisons in the Central Region.

This judgment serves as a deterrent to others and reinforces the consequences of engaging in criminal activities.
