The Deputy Attorney General and incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Tempane constituency under the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Joseph Kpemka, has been defeated by the widow Madam Lydia Akanvariba Adakudugu, wife of the late NDC parliamentary candidate for the area, David Adakudugu who passes on after primaries.
According to the results, Lawyer Kpemka pulled only 16,461 votes which represent 44.01 percent against 20,939 representing 55.99% for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Madam Lydia.
Lawyer Kpemka who is the current Deputy Attorney- General of the Republic of Ghana was elected in 2016 massively to represent the constituents in parliament when he pulled 13,363 votes to emerge victorious ahead of the late David Adakudugu who polled 10,697 for the NDC.
Madam Lydia Akanvariba Adakudugu was re-elected by the party to represent the late husband ahead of the 2020 elections.
However, during her campaign for the 2020 elections, she promised the people of Tempane constituency to continue the good work of her late husband David Adakudugu.

In the presidential results, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) pulled 14,013, GFP 250 NDC 20,660; NDP 251; PPP 198; GUM 173; IND. 156; PNC 130 and LPG pulled 107 votes.
