The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its distrust in the Electoral Commission (EC) as the 2024 elections approach. Apexnewsgh reports
According to the party’s General Secretary, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey, the NDC cannot afford to trust the EC, citing concerns about the commission’s ability to deliver a credible election.
Mr. Kwetey likened the situation to a critical battle, where one must be prepared to fight for victory. He referenced a boxing analogy, where one must enter the ring prepared to land punches and ensure justice is served. The NDC aims to win the election at the polling station and ensure votes are counted and protected to reflect the true will of the people.
The NDC’s stance is not about refusing to accept any outcome except a declaration of their victory, but rather about ensuring the electoral process is transparent and trustworthy. The party’s concerns stem from the EC’s past conduct and the presence of individuals affiliated with the ruling party in key positions.
In essence, the NDC is taking a proactive approach to ensure the election’s integrity, rather than relying on the Supreme Court to resolve any potential disputes.
By doing so, they aim to uphold the democratic principles and guarantee a true reflection of the people’s choice.
