In a significant development, Parliament has given the green light to President John Mahama’s latest ministerial appointments. Today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, three new ministers were approved, marking a crucial step in the formation of President Mahama’s government.

The newly approved ministers are:

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance, who will play a key role in shaping Ghana’s economic policies.
Dominic Ayine as Minister for Justice and Attorney General, who will oversee the country’s justice system and provide legal counsel to the government.

John Jinapor as Minister for Energy and Green Transition, who will be responsible for driving Ghana’s energy sector and promoting sustainable development.

These appointments follow a thorough vetting process by the Appointments Committee, which unanimously recommended the nominees for approval. The Majority and Minority caucuses in Parliament also acknowledged the nominees’ competence and ability to lead their respective ministries.

As President Mahama continues to make ministerial appointments, Parliament will carry on its vetting and approval process. This development is a significant step forward in President Mahama’s efforts to assemble a qualified and effective government team to tackle Ghana’s pressing national issues.
