Former President John Mahama has said, that the Akufo-Addo government has been selective and partisan in its fight against illegal mining.
The for President made the pronouncement when addressing branch and constituency executives of Atewa West and East constituencies during his three-day Eastern regional tour.
“Some of our young men were arrested and prosecuted for engaging in galamsey because they were not New Patriotic Party members”, Mr. Mahama, who is seeking a comeback complained to party delegates.
“Some of our young men are in jail”, he pointed.
“Their excavators were seized because they were accused of engaging in illegal mining and the excavators handed over to NPP members for work”, Mr. Mahama claimed.
“Everything has an end”, the former president pointed out, decrying: “We don’t do that”.
He said: “We are all Ghanaians and need to benefit from the natural resources”.
However, with his self-confident Mr. Mahama assured the NDC delegates and supporters not to worry because change is coming.
