Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Binduri Constituency Counselor Jambeidu Mbawini Sadat has responded to the Regional NPP Communication Director Peter Ayinbisa after saying the Binduri seat is for the people of Binduri and doesn’t belong to either NPP or NDC as earlier claimed by Abdallah Salifu the NDC Regional Communication Officer. Meanwhile, responding through a press release copied to this platform, Mr. Mbawini said: “We only borrowed the seat for the NPP on two occasions of which we are going to retrieve it from them come 2024” PRESS RELEASE My attention was drawn to a release full of distortion of facts and lies inherited from Bawumia, which has eaten deep into the born marrow of the NPP Regional Communications Director Mr. Ayinbisa concerning the Binduri seat being a “Swing Seat”. As an NDC communication officer full of facts, based on my party principles and ideologies, I, therefore, decided to set the records straight. In fact, I wish to draw his attention that, analyzing politics in Binduri is not as simple as going to Bongo market to buy a bottle of chill beer or pito but rather brains must crack to come to an accurate conclusion. Binduri per records available has produced about seven (7), Members of Parliament who have ever gone to parliament since 1992 to represent us. However, out of these seven, only two were NPP and five were NDC, and they are 1. Hon Dominic Achidago(NDC), 2. Hon Fortunate Atubiga(NDC), 3. Hon Mark Anthony (NDC), 4. Hon Ben Noah Azure(NDC), 5. Hon Dr Robert Kuganaab-Lem (NDC), 6. Hon Stephen Yakubu(NPP), and 7. Hon Abdulai Abanga(NPP). So where lies this distortion of facts because of selfish interest or cheap propaganda? I won’t fault him, though but his caliber as a regional Communication Director of a ruling party should have done a lot of research about almighty Binduri before coming out to say things he knows nothing about. We only borrowed the seat for the NPP on two occasions of which we are going to retrieve it from them come 2024 of which we have been on record of the same incidence in time past, which if he doubts my assertion, he can ask the current upper East Regional Minister, Hon Stephen Yakubu of what happened to him in time past. Perhaps, I want to believe Mr. Ayinbisa may have not understood the word “Swing”, because, binduri seat is never a swing seat and can never be a swing seat , so he should get that clear and stop misleading the public. I will wait patiently for Mr. Ayinbisa to come again with another lie rather than this comic relief because is funny to make this wake statement without facts. Binduri NDC Communication Officer challenges DCE to show his funding source after…
The Binduri NDC Constituency Communication Officer Counselor Jambeidu Mbawini Sadat has challenged the Binduri Chief Executive Mr. Ayinga Abagre Yakubu to show the source of funding for his traveling to Qatar after abandoning his District for football. According to the NDC Constituency Communication Officer, an appointed public official especially as District Chief Executive (DCE) who should be worried about the current economic challenge facing his people in Binduri shouldn’t have left his office duty to travel just to watch football in Qatar. “My DCE has gone to Qatar to watch football and I believe going to Qatar to watch football has no economic benefit to the good people of Binduri. I believe that with the current economic hardship and situations my DCE should’ve stayed in Binduri to see how we can help to salvage the current economic crisis rather than using taxpayer’s money to go to Qatar. And I asked myself, let’s take it that the country gave them a free ticket, what about his feeding, what about his accommodation over there in Qatar, and what about his personal expenses as he is going to live there for these numbers of days which I believe is waste of Tax payers money”. Mr. Jambeidu said, if Abagre Yakubu care about the welfare of the people of Binduri, he wouldn’t have been on social media flooding his picture from the World Cup center in Qatar. “So, as the NDC Communication Officer for Binduri am challenging him to show us the source of funding for his Qatar and I want the good people of Binduri to also know that it looks like our DCE do not care about us because if he really cares about us, he won’t go to Qatar watching football and flooding his pictures on social media to let us know he is Qatar”. Confidence of citizens will be boosted if leadership exhibit transparency on how revenues collected are put to use– Sadat
According to the NDC representative and a regional member of the communication team Jambeidu Mbawini Sadat, leadership must be transparent and open to Ghanaians on how revenues collected are been put to use. Speaking on Apexnews Ghana programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Monday, September 12, 2022. Mr. Jambeidu believes that will be the only forward on improving revenue collection in our various MMDAs. “I blame ourselves because is high time we become transparent, is high time we become very open as leaders, as far as governance is concerned and when you are transparent, no reasonable Ghanaian will tell you I will not pay tax. They will be eager to even pay the tax”. He said “Let me put it on record, there is no developing country that says, we can stand without taxes, no government can come and say I will rule this country without generating Internal Revenue to run the affairs of the country. The same that, there is no District that will say I won’t mobilize I won’t say won’t generate Internal Generated Fund to run the Assembly but only depend on the central government for their day to day activity”. He pointed Mr. Jambeidu also, explained that with the current state of the Assembly where DCEs are currently working for months without receiving their salaries, there is a possibility of revenue wastage because the DCEs will want to survive with the little coming into the Assembly from some other sources. “And even currently, am told, Common Fund doesn’t come regularly and some appointees like the DCE’s am told their salaries have not been paid since they assume office, I don’t know if now they have started paying them. So, if you don’t pay them, It means the DCEs will be feasting with the little resource that is meant for running of the assembly activity”. “This Particular government the transparency is not there and that is one the key thing”. 1V1D Policy: A curse and shoddy work to the people of Upper East Region
As the governing New Patriotic Party holds the view that one of their flagship policies One Village One District (1V1D) is a blessing to the people of the Upper East Region, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region believes the policy is a curse as far as the region is concerned. According to the NDC representative and a regional member of the communication team Jambeidu Mbawini Sadat, the government promised the people of the Upper East Region a dam, not a dugout. He described the 1V1D constructed so far in the region as “shoddy”He spoke on the Apexnews Ghana programme dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” on Monday, September 12, 2022. “In fact, this is a curse, not a blessing. I call it propaganda. My brother, let’s say, I promised to give you a flat-screen TV and later give you a matches box TV. Does it make sense? What they have done is not a dam is a dugout and what they have done is very shoddy and in fact, very pathetic. You don’t come to promise us something and give us another thing? It means that you are toiling with the emotions of the people and I can tell you on authority that in my community, they came and did that shoddy work they called a dam, and now that we are in the rainy season, you can go and see a little drop of water there. But after the rainy season somewhere in November or December come and you won’t see any water in it”. Mr. Sadat said, doing such a shoddy job without any value for money, only gives the impression the government came in to loot the system. If you know the amount of money they have paid these contractors, and in the end, we didn’t get value for money. If you are coming to govern people in this manner, you are only creating the impression that you only came to loot and share. Bawku Conflict: NDC and NPP in Upper East Region call for togetherness
Regional Communication team members of both the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region have registered their displeasures in the ongoing conflict within the Bawku Municipality and its environs as they call peace. Both parties registered their displeasure on the Apexnews Ghana program dubbed “SPEAKOUT UPPER EAST” with Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen on Monday, September 12, 2022. Sharing his view on the ongoing Bawku conflict, the NDC representative and a regional member of the communication team Jambeidu Mbawini Sadat said: “In terms of infrastructure Bawku is on a verge of collapsing, in the aspect of agriculture Bawku is on the verge of collapsing, when you look at our educational system, we are already in a collapsing state which is not good to be very good for us growing up and most especially what I love in the Regional Minister statement was where he talked about school children whose future have been truncated”. Mr. Sadat revealed, that for the past year, there are some areas within the Bawku municipality and its environs in which children do not even go to school. “Then if children can stay at home for over a year without going to school, then where lies their future? It means that these children who would be the future leaders of tomorrow such as future President, Ministers and so on, their education have been truncated because of the conflict that is currently ongoing in Bawku” he stressed He further added, “In terms of infrastructure Bawku is on a verge of collapsing, in the aspect of agriculture Bawku is on the verge of collapsing, when you look at our educational system, we are already in a collapsing state which is not good to be very good for us growing up and most especially what I love in the Regional Minister statement was where he talked about school children whose future have been truncated”. However, to him, he doesn’t want people to see what is happening in Bawku as a conflict.“ We should find a way we can come together to mend our differences” Meanwhile, a regional member of the governing New Patriotic Party communication team Daniel Animah described the ongoing conflict in Bawku as unfortunate. According to Mr. Animah, instead of them coming together to talk about developmental issues that affect their daily lives and things that the government is doing to better the lives of ordinary Ghanaians, the region keeps going back and front with regard to the issue of Bawku which he thinks is very unfortunate.“I think the people of Bawku should give peace a chance just like the people of Doba and Kandiga has done. We cannot as it were replace anything with peace. When conflict like this happens, you might not know the effect. The security agencies that patrol the town, the intelligence agencies that patrol the town are all been fed from the little IGF and the little amount the district assembly has” Bawku in recent times has seen several attacks resulting in the loss of lives and properties in the area. Those traveling to Bawku on daily basis fear for their lives as they travel because one cannot tell what will happen the next minute. However, in a recent engagement with members of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) the Chairman of the Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC), Stephen Yakubu has said, the conflict in Bawku and its environs has reached its peak with incidents of attacks and counter-attacks perpetrated on the daily basis.
