Ministry of Food and Agriculture Veterinary Service Directorate in the Upper East Region has banned the movement of Poultry products in and around Zaare in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
According to the Regional Veterinary, the announcement was as a result of the confirmation of an outbreak of Avian Influenza Subtype H5 in a farm at Zaare in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
However, all staff of the veterinary services in the region and security personnel are entreated to act accordingly to prevent the spread of the Disease in the Region.
“Following the confirmed outbreak of the Avian Influenza Subtype H5 in a farm at Zaare in the Bolgatanga Municipality, the Regional Directorate of the Veterinary services has hereby placed a ban on movement of poultry and poultry Products in and out of Zaare in the Bolgatanga Municipality, This action is being taken in order to protect the poultry industry in the upper east region”.
