Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is scheduled to deliver a significant national address on February 7, 2024, outlining his vision for the future of Ghana.
The event, titled ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future’, will take place at the Kofi-Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
In his speech, Dr Bawumia will prioritize the utilization of technology, data, and systems to foster inclusive economic growth. His objective is to position Ghana as a digital hub for Africa, bridging the digital divide through the implementation of digital technology and artificial intelligence in sectors like healthcare, education, and public service delivery.
Taking into account his role as the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, Dr Bawumia has expressed his commitment to building on the existing foundations to propel Ghana to the next level. His vision encompasses supporting local businesses, addressing the needs of the underprivileged, and promoting economic growth through industrial development.
Dr Bawumia, in a recent address to party members upon securing the flagbearer position, reiterated his loyalty to the NPP and highlighted his track record of performance as vice president. He stated, “I have worked hard with you for the NPP and for Ghana over the last 22 years, from the Kufuor’s era as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana to our years in opposition and now in government.”
The forthcoming national address is expected to be a defining moment for Dr Bawumia, as he unveils his vision for Ghana’s path in the 2024 general elections. His focus will be on innovative solutions and selfless leadership to drive the nation forward.
