Mr. Ayinbisa was responding to Abogro’s comment which suggests that he does not see anything unique the Vice-President has to offer the NPP and the people of Ghana after failing to live up to expectations as the head of the Economic Management Team in the last 6 years
“What new do you have? You’re sitting there, you’re in charge, you’re the economist of our time, better place to manage the economy, head of the economic management team, what again do you have to offer?” he questioned in an interview on State of Our Nation.
“The vice-president still sits in office because he and the president ran on one ticket and they had one vision. So how new, how radical will his new vision and aspiration be able to change things after he has managed the economy for 8 years?” Abogro said
Meanwhile, reacting to the statements made by Abogro against Vice President Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Ayinbisa said, no patriotic member of the party will take Mr. Abogro seriously because the determination of Dr. Bawumia’s Integrity and credibility will be decided by those who have the voting right and not by the likes of Michael Abogro who sits outside and around the gallery making reckless comments.
“I am a voter, am going to vote and I will decide the credibility issues and the integrity issues than he Michael Abogro, because he has no vote, he not a voter at all levels. Voting at the special delegate level, he is not a voter, and voting at the general level he is not a voter. So, the issues of credibility and integrity will be determined by those who had the right to vote and not people who sit outside, people who sit around the gallery and make such comments”.
According to Mr. Ayinbisa, he is not surprised these comments are coming from within, because before the 2016 general elections some of them made those reckless comment about President Akufo-Addo, “some of them said, Akufo-Addo was too short he cannot be president, some of them said, Akufo-Addo will never become president in this country and I was there when some of them made those reckless and needless comments, I was there when they say they are not going to campaign for Akufo-Addo. Eventually, when Akufo-Addo become president in 2017, the same people are the ones who are milking and enjoying the government. The same people who said that he is not qualified, he is not fit, he doesn’t have the luck to become president, they have milked, they have enjoyed the presidency of Akufo-Addo but they worked against Akufo-Addo, they didn’t want Akufo-Addo to win. And am telling you that we have picked signals, intelligence, that they are working around to make the party lose so that we can go into opposition and they will now reorganize the party”. Ayinbisa revealed
