For the first time, communicators from both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana found a strong reason to mock members of the Ghana Journalist Association in the Upper East Region after defeating them in a significant manner. The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) leadership had organized a friendly football match as part of their regional second edition awards preparations. The match was scheduled for Friday and was played between the GJA team and a combined team consisting of communicators from the NDC and NPP parties. In an exciting match resembling the El-Clasico, the combined political party communicators emerged victorious with a 4-1 win against the makers of modern minds. Regrettably, star players Azongo Albert and Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen were unable to participate in the friendly game, giving the communicators an advantage to triumph over GJA without mercy. Furthermore, assistant Captain Peter Ayinbisa of the communicators’ team expressed sympathy towards Team GJA, despite the already dominant 4-1 scoreline. None of the players from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) were able to convert a goal. What does this information imply? Are the NDC in the Region also suggesting that in addition to having 14 members in parliament, the NPP cannot compete with them in football?
