There has been a severe damage in parts of Germany as a result of flood and fallen trees. Report say, rail traffic is mostly affected across the country, and as a result some routes are shutdown.

In some parts of Germany, there have been storms after the heat of the past few weeks. From the centre, south and south-west of Germany, roofs, fallen trees, flooded cellars and hail damage to buildings have already been reported.

Deutsche Bahn spoke of considerable restrictions in train traffic nationwide and lifted the train connection for trips planned today and on Friday. Several routes were closed on Thursday evening, including the important routes Hamburg – Berlin, Hanover – Berlin, from Fulda via Kassel to Göttingen and from Frankfurt to Wiesbaden.
